The Recycled Textile Stone (RTS) is a patented material we craft and developped for Wim Studio. Its composition is 95% waste + 5% colophon. The waste used to create the main material matrix is obtained from constructions sites (plaster, isolation components), canned food infustry (shells) and textile waste.
Transforming recycled materials into aesthetically pleasing designs requires a deep understanding of the waste itself, its inherent value, and how to repurpose it. By embracing the material's authenticity and incorporating it into a harmonious whole, you can minimize the need for additives and virgin materials. The key is not to conceal the material's "waste" origins, but to elevate it with honesty and beauty. This philosophy was applied to WIM Studio's "Recycled Textile Stone" collections, which offer a diverse range of finishes and colors suitable for various markets and consumer segments, from luxury to mass market. The material is now being used in several interior projects, including hospitality and office spaces, as well as furniture design.
