MARI is crafted for durability and customization through various finishes, drawing its visually striking aesthetics from optical illusions present in art and architecture. Its name MA.R.I. came from the words of MADERA (Wood in spanish), R (Recycled) and I (innovative). Betanzos HB asked us to create a furniture piece that would increase the appeal of their recycled wood fiber panels (Tablex), which were mainly used as storage dividers or floor protectors. They wanted a product that inspired more high-end uses. Consequently, MARI was designed as a multipurpose circular furniture piece that showcases the material's potential while giving the wood waste a second life.
