Mix & Match.
Hybrid design for sustainable high end packaging and electronics.
Using and hybrid technology of thermoforming and plastic injection we worked on how to decline a material made from recycled leather. The leather waste comes from the cutouts of clothing and accessories. It has no plastics on it. The potential of this material for "hard" luxury accessories like cases or even furniture was clear, the only need was to find the best way to make it possible to obtain a product ready to launch in an almost one-shot process. Thus, we explored how to work with hybrid two-phased molding technologies to mix this leather with post-consumer recycled resins.
After an iterative work with both suppliers (technology and material provider) we were able to create an astounding prototype of a product.
